In recent years, BIT has established and implemented a recruitment system for teaching staff of “pre-appointed, tenured, and special positions” that is unique to the university and aligned with international conventions. Currently, we are seeking outstanding scholars across the world with strong academic capacity and great potential.

n  Disciplines

Talents in the fields of mechanics, materials science and engineeringmechanical engineering are highly welcome.

n  Treatments and welfare

1. Settlement of household registration in Beijing when conditions permit;

2. Providing adequate research start-up funds for corresponding positions; providing priority support in areas such as experimental office conditions, team staffing, and doctoral/master post-graduate admittance depending on the actual situation of teaching and research;

3. The university insists on identifying and recruiting talents in accordance with first-class academic standards, offers remuneration and welfare that is internationally competitive and builds a long-term growth strategy;

4. Providing housing subsidies in accordance with corresponding positions and facilitating access to transitional apartments;

Special positions: including distinguished professors, chair professors and specially-appointed professors

Academic leaders with excellent scientific accomplishments and internationally recognized academic achievements in their research disciplines, with the ability to lead an academic team to confront academic challenges.


Tenured positions: including tenured professors and tenured associate professors

Academic pace-setters with great potential, and internationally recognized research achievements in their research disciplines.


Pre-appointed positions: including pre-appointed professors, associate professors and assistant professors

Excellent young talents with a doctorate degree from a prestigious university, a strong academic background with prominent academic outcomes. In general, pre-appointed professors should be no older than 40, pre-appointed associate professors no older than 35, and pre-appointed assistant professors no older than 32.


Postdoctoral researchers: Those with a solid academic background, strong innovation and academic potential, and the ability to undertake independent research. They must have received a PhD degree within three years and, in general, not older than 35.
