Since its establishment, the Institute has invested more than 140 million yuan (≈19.3 million US dollars) in facilities and equipment. Nowadays, the Institute is fully equipped with facilities for manufacturing, processing and testing composite materials, ceramic materials, and energy optoelectronic materials. Some equipment performance has reached the leading level in China.


The Institute is fully equipped with a set of facilities and instruments for testing the mechanical and functional properties of large-sized, load-bearing, and irregular structures. Our research team has rich experience in designing experimental fixtures, jigs, and schemes. In addition, we are capable of conducting multifunctional and non-destructive testing in various means and tools. We are adept at:

·Independently testing the mechanical performance of large structural components, high-strength materials, parts, and sub components;

·Conducting the testing in different conditions including the simple static strength testing and the complex vibration, fatigue, and dynamic testing;

·Testing the reflectivity for absorbing materials and the transmittance property for transmitting materials;

·Testing structural fire resistance;

·Nonlinear ultrasonic testing to detect the mechanical degradation of materials and bonding interfaces;

·Non-destructive testing of early damage and cracks in ferromagnetic materials and structures;

·Making a quantitative simulation of internal microstructure and defects of materials by the CT three-dimensional reconstruction numerical simulation platform designed and owned by the Institute.
