Professor Fang Daining is a full professor in Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures, at Institute of Advanced Structure Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). He completed his PhD at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (1989-1993). He is the Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2013) and the International Member of National Academy of Engineering (USA, 2022), as well as a Fellow in American Society of Mechanical Engineers (2020) and International Association of Applied Mechanics (2020). He has also held a leadership position as President of International Association of Applied Mechanics since 2020. He served as Vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology from 2015 to 2018. From 2015 up to now he is the Honorary Director of Institute of Advanced Structure Technology, BIT.
