Wang Yiguang is a full professor in Materials Science at the Institute of Advanced Structure Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Tianjin University in 1994 and 1997, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Central Florida (USA) in 2006.

In 2006, he joined Northwestern Polytechnical University as an associate professor, focusing on ceramic matrix composites and environmental barrier coatings. He was promoted to full professor at Northwestern Polytechnical University in 2010. In 2018, he transitioned to Beijing Institute of Technology, where he continues to work on ceramic matrix composites and environmental barrier coatings.

Professor Wang has published over 250 journal articles and holds more than 40 patents. His publications have garnered over 8,500 citations, resulting in an h-index of 50. In 2019, he received a National Award for Technological Invention (2nd level). 


His research is focused on ceramic matrix composites, environmental barrier coatings, and ceramic sintering. His work encompasses cost-effective fabrication methods for ceramic composites, their characterization, and the mechanical and environmental behaviors of these materials. He is also interested in the application of artificial intelligence in materials science
