Lei Hongshuai is a Professor in Solid Mechanics, at Institute of Advanced Structure Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology, based in the Beijing Key Laboratory of Lightweight Multi-functional Composite Materials and Structures.

He received his BS degree and PhD degree in Solid Mechanics from Harbin Engineering University, and did his postdoctoral research in the Peking University. Previously, he studied in University of Sydney as a visiting student supported by China Scholarship Council.


Lei Hongshuai has a special interest in the design and manufacturing of lightweight lattice structures, multifunctional composite structures, and the damage behavior of FRP under cryogenic temperature.
